Pascal Fellonneau is a French photographer exploring the landscapes of Europe from Iceland to Spain, from his hometown Bordeaux to Paris where he now lives. An important part of his work questions the urban scene as we inhabit it. His pictures depict strange yet familiar landscapes often devoid of humanity. After living in Iceland for a few years, he was beneficiary of a grant from French ministry of Culture in 2005, and began exhibiting in several countries across Europe (France, Greece, Germany, Sweden).
From Febuary till March 2012, he has been regularly wandering the streets of Paris searching for electoral posters of French presidential election 2012. The series Candidates is the result of this work and the exhibition CAMPAGNE shows a selection of it.
Some images from this series were shown in a solo exhibition at Plataforma, Bordeaux, France 2013 and published in several magazines and newspapers.

“Photographers have long been entranced by the effects of time, be it the slow crumbling of a cathedral, or the erosion of time on a face. Pascal Felloneau noticed that an image can quickly become the future without even pausing in present time with his photographs of French political posters. Architecture ages slowly but nothing ages faster than a political poster. One moment, they are potent images of hope and persuasion, the next forlorn mockeries of ambition. Pascal’s images of various political candidates, photographed weeks before the event, reveal how the erosion of weather and time turns both victor and the vanquished into rueful souvenirs of the past before the event has even occurred.”
